The whole roof is designed by our experienced designers office using the state-of-the-art computer aided technology supplied by Wolf Systems.
Roof Trusses
Roof Trusses are and have been a safe, efficient and economical method for constructing building roofs since the early sixties.
They are manufactured to exacting standards using the latest timber engineering equipment available to allow us to supply to all sectors within the construction industry.
Developments have been extensive and today’s complex roofscapes are easily formed with the aid of state-of-the-art computer designed wood and engineered timber truss rafters.
Not only does this process allow the construction of complex projects, it also makes the job of the architect and builder alike much simpler.
Bespoke Design
With the continuing trend towards individualism in domestic house styling the facility to introduce variations to the standard design is vital.
The provision of many character differences by design and then constructing L returns, doglegs, attics and hips for example, satisfies the inherent need for individuality at affordable prices.
Economical roofing solutions for many commercial, industrial and agricultural buildings, hospitals, supermarket complex are achieved by the expeditious installation of roof trusses.
Technical Data
Design
Trusses are designed compliant with the current Code of Practice, BS 5268: Part 3, and relevant Building Regulations.
Span
Standard trusses can be designed with spans of up to 11 metres using 35mm timber, extending up to 15 metres utilising 47mm timber.
Spans in excess of these dimensions can be supplied as multiple joined trusses or by utilising other products.
Pitch
To help reduce costs, we standardise the range of pitches available to between 15 & 40 degrees. If this is unsuitable, we can supply trusses outside these dimensions. We are happy to advise on all aspects of design to ensure best design practice.
Overhang
Overhangs can be supplied to suit most requirements. Please ask us for details.
Spacing
Trusses are usually spaced at 600mm, but it is common for spacing at 450mm or even 400mm for heavier weight requirements.
Timber
We comply with UK and European standards by using only timber which is kiln dried and stress graded.
Preservation
Trusses may be treated with new waterborne solutions, or with non-corrosive spirit based organic solvents.
